Chiropractic can help with neck pain

Get to the cause

Moving our neck is something most people take for granted. That is until you cannot do it anymore. Being connected to upper back muscles, and carrying the weight of our heads, necks are actually very susceptible to injury.

Problems with the neck can cause headaches, TMJ, shoulder and upper back pain, ringing in the ears and restricted motion.

Injury, poor posture, subluxations and stress are just a few causes of neck pain.

Dr. Martens will work to improve the mobility of the spine and redeem a range of motion. Chiropractic manipulation enhances the movement of the adjacent muscles supporting the cervical vertebrae. In doing these, Dr. Martens will reduce neck pain, stiffness, and soreness allowing improved capability to tilt and turn the head.

Therapies that help

Soft-Tissue Therapy
Dr. Martens will work to relax and treat sore muscles. While there are several ways to help muscles relax, treatments at Martens Chiropractic will include stretching, trigger point therapy and dry needling.

Chiropractic Therapy
Depending on your condition, Dr. Martens might use the following techniques under spinal adjustments.

Cervical mobilization- Dr. Martens moves the cervical vertebrae from left to right with calculated speeds. This is a smooth, non-thrust type of stretch, with the goal of reducing fixations or areas where motion is restricted between the cervical spinal segments.
Cervical traction- you will lie on the traction table facing upwards. Dr. Martens will apply gentle pulls and stretches on the cervical region to improve mobility and offer pain relief.

Exercise and Self-Management
We put a lot of stress on our necks, even just sitting at work. Did you know that you put an extra 10 lbs. of weight on your neck just by looking at your devices?
Dr. Martens teach you about how frequent breaks to stretch your neck will help.

You could turn your neck to the right and stretch your head for ten seconds before turning to the other side for ten seconds, all in about four cycles.

Other therapeutic exercises and stretches such as chin tucks, rotating shoulder blades, and not staying stationary, will help you improve your neck’s mobility and relieve neck pain.

Located in Casper, Wyoming, Martens Chiropractic offers chiropractic and dry needling services.
